Honeymoon In Maldives |
 |
Take your sweetheart to these pearls scattered in the
heart of the Indian Ocean. With its numerous sun kissed beaches, deep blue
seas, azure skies and tropical palms, Maldives is an ideal honeymoon
destination. Get pampered as you lie leisurely in one of the beach resorts,
dance to live music or attend a beach barbecue. If you need action, surf or
dive in the tranquil waters of the sea.
Best Season
The ideal season for the honeymooners is December to March. Tourist
activity reaches soaring heights around the Christmas-New Year week. Owing
to the rush of tourists it will be wise enough for you to book your tour in
advance. There is heavy rainfall throughout the rest of the year.
The Island Resorts
The little island is all yours. Imagine a short barefoot stroll across the
soft sandy beach facing the shimmering blue waters of the sea. You can walk
down to the restaurant, the bar or the dive school. A single resort occupies
an entire island with semi-detached bungalows built around the island facing
the beach or on the shallow lagoons that surround the island. The resorts
are equipped with bars, restaurants, centralized swimming pools, gymnasium,
in fact, all that you need to make it a dream holiday. An interesting fact
is that in most of these islands the only inhabitants other than tourists
are the resort staff.
Accessibility
International
The only international airport is near the capital Male and is connected by
flights to and from important cities of the world. There are no cruises to
the Maldives and very few private yachts are willing to go there.
Domestic
There is a round the clock ferry service from the airport to Male. From
Male you have a slew of options for getting to your resort. The national
airline connects 4 major islands. You can also get around by seaplane,
helicopters, or by local boats.
Staying
Out of the 1192 islands more than 70 are resort islands which are not
inhabited by local population. The quality of accommodation varies from
island to island and so does the prices. The resorts are loaded with fun-
water sports, soft sandy beaches, serene blue waters- it will take your
breath away. But the accomodation tends to be expensive and there is nothing
sort of budget stay.
